Avinor handles most of Norway's airports, and acts as a hostel for many companies and employees. Co-ordination and unity in the workplace are crucial, also across companies. Necessary information must be made available to employees for an efficient working day. The challenge was to create a consolidated platform for information and useful tools. The solution was a modern digital intranet on a mobile device.

Easy access to all critical information

All employees at the airport have access to Avinor Community. Operational news, operational announcements, advanced flight data, weather forecasts and more are available based on the role assigned.

Appified tools

The app now functions as a mobile intranet, and has given employees a modern tool for a simplified workday. Tools that were previously only available via intranet or extranet websites are now optimized and made available in the apps with an absolute focus on usability and performance.

Handling data from various sources

The different actors at the airports need different information for their employees with different roles. At the same time, the data sources are many. By developing a middle layer (API Gateway), we handle information that comes in from different services. The middle layer enables rapid rollout of new services, and reduces risk.
