A mobile app for a broader audience
Rikstoto's new application represents a significant effort to make horse betting more accessible and tailored to a broader audience. By leveraging modern technology and intuitive design, we have created a platform that gives players a simple, fast and engaging experience, regardless of prior experience with horse betting. The new app has effectively eliminated barriers, making it easier than ever to register as a customer and take part in the excitement of trotting and galloping races from around the world.
Focus on safe gaming
In developing Rikstoto's application, safety and responsible gaming is a top priority. As a gaming company with a social mission mandated by Norwegian authorities, Norsk Rikstoto is committed to ensuring responsible horse betting. The new app reflects that commitment by integrating strong security features, clear accountability labelling, and making help information available should gaming problems arise. From the application, users over 18 can easily register as a Rikstoto customer via BankID. All users must set their own spending limits, and important information about the potential risk of gambling is communicated in the app. The Rikstoto app is not only a platform for entertainment, but also a tool to support Rikstoto's social mission for responsible gaming.
Universal design
Our design philosophy for Rikstoto's application has been to ensure universal accessibility. The app is built to be accessible to everyone, regardless of individual traits, abilities or needs. We implemented features that support varied zoom settings, screen readers and keyboard navigation, and ran extensive testing to ensure an inclusive gaming experience. This approach underlines our commitment to creating technology solutions that are not only effective, but also respectful of and accommodating to the diversity of Rikstoto app users.

An important goal during development of the Rikstoto app was to make horse betting easily accessible for everyone, regardless of familiarity with horse racing or technology. The app integrates well-known authentication solutions (BankID and Vipps) for registration and sign-in, with an interface that makes it fast and simple to place a bet on horses. With an intuitive layout and clear presentation of information, we created a platform that lets users easily find, understand and participate in the games offered by Norsk Rikstoto. The intuitive user journey in the app reflects Rikstoto's commitment to making horse betting an accessible and positive experience for everyone.
